Taking the Same Road Twice (or Thrice): Ecological Insights for Repeat Visits to Nature Preserves

Professor Spencer Cortwright from Indiana University Northwest teaches ecology, zoology, restoration ecology as well as other courses. Gabis Arboretum is excited to host one of his presentations, as there is no one better to speak about the knowledge that can be gained from repeated visits to nature preserves. This presentation notes many reasons to revisit nature preserves (exercise, spiritual uplift, camaraderie, restoration work, etc.) and emphasizes one in particular: detecting ecological processes at work. We will virtually walk through select preserves and identify important ecological insights that can be learned from repeat visits! These intellectual exercises are exciting!

The class will meet at the Depot.
